This quality door knocker was manufactured in the 1970s by the vintage Danish brass Maker Axel Hasselstrøm A/S. It is made out of solid, high quality heavy Danish-made brass. This is not the lightweight, thin, low-quality brass that comes from places like India, China, Mexico and Pakistan. See the Danish flag tag that says "Messing" Messing is Danish for brass. Door knocker has an aged brass finish with some antiquing to it. Features an elegant round circular ring with a twisted rope-like pattern. Has a second larger circular brass ring back behind it, with lovely decorative grooves in it, as the knocker plate. The inner ring strikes on this heavy outer plate to make a deep resounding knocking sound.
