Check the listing for details. 1857 U.S. Flying Eagle cent, lamination error at edge. Listed at 75.00 USD. 1857 Flying Eagle cent. Nice middle grade Flying eagle with a lot of feather detail still showing, especially in the wings of the eagles. The area at the edge, beginning at the "7" of the date, and to the right of that appears to be an area of lamination and metal loss from that lamination rather than a hit or any after striking damage. In looking with magnification, the metal texture and look down into the area does not look like contact, but does look like metal texture loss to lamination. Interesting error in metal mix uniformity causing some later loss of metal.
