There is literally nothing remotely like it on the Internet. What we were able to ascertain is the German Progress Party was founded in Germany around 1861 and disbanded by 1884. The group apparently made their way to Colorado by the early 1870's and branched out from there. We are calling it a token however, it is obviously not a trade token. The general assumption it is a 'proof of membership' token. It was found in Montana. There is a Custer County in Montana however, Custer County Idaho is a lot closer to the location it was found. We are confident on the date as other U.S. coinage from the 1870's and 1880's was discovered at the same time and location.
