For sale is an antique book, Notes, Explanatory and Practical, On The New Testament, by the Rev. Albert Barnes. This hard-to-find hardcover book is Volume I, Matthew-I. Corinthians. It was published in London by Virtue and Company, probably in the early 1870s; there is no copyright date. This book is beautifully illustrated with full-page engravings. It is in very good condition, with some foxing; there is a tear at the bottom of the spine. Rev. Barnes was a liberal American Presbyterian clergyman who became pastor of the First Church in Philadelphia, mother church of the Presbyterian denomination in America, in 1830. This book measures 9 by 11 inches and is 2 1/4 inches thick; it weighs 5 pounds. See my listings for other items.
