The Micrometer Balance Scale Company of Troy New York introduced the scale in 1897. The Dodge Manufacturing Company of Yonkers New York was selling these devices by 1905. It had no springs or loose weights, but the weight end of the beam is transformed into a quick acting screw, and upon this screw the weight is moved with great accuracy. Repainted.
