Check the listing for details. 1976 $2 FRN Major Shift, Cut, & Ink Error note slight hard 2 c folds VERY RARE. Listed at 127.70 USD. 1976 $2 FRN Shift, Cut & Ink Error note Almost uncirculated slight hard to see folds. Shipped with USPS First Class Package. Follow me:Main error and quickly seen is the cut error, notice the margins aren't correct. The upper & right margins are too narrow. (Which made the lower & left margins too big.) The green seal is far out of position actually touching the signature below it, making this glaring error easy to pick out, even to the untrained eye. There's dark ink splatters all over the note. Again, compare them to some of the notes in your pocket, and you can see, it is NOT what the designers had in mind of course. There are many pictures which show those splatters, or 'over-inking'. The last three pictures are held vertically by two fingers under a focused bright light so it will make shadows is there are any folds in the note. There are some. Obviously, someone caught the errors when the note was new and put it away. Too bad they folded it. Would have, likely, been worth hundreds or thousands with all the errors if uncirculated. The folds make it 'circulated'. Notice also, how the black district numbers 10 are also printed too low, nearly touching the artwork below it. Best seen on the left side where the black #10 is nearly touching the printing on the surround. [The 10 on the right side is almost as bad]. I have been collecting error notes and coins for too more years than I like to admit, and I love $2's which was my focus. Error notes and coins are the collector's collection favorites because they are so rare. The error notes are hard to find, so consider yourself lucky to have come across these here. So inexpensive too. Check out error notes anywhere; they don't give them away. The Whitman's Encyclopedia says, "errors are valued at $20.00 - $50.00". If the errors are greater then the value goes up. Some error notes can be in the thousands of dollars. So to price out this note fairly, let's start with the face value [that's easy' $2.00. Whitman's book, says this note should bring $10 if uncirculated, so ours is circulated, so let's give it half that at $5.00 = $7.00. Now the errors number 4, and at $20 each it's $80.00, and at $50.00 each it's $200.00. This note doesn't rate that much due to condition, so let's slash that in half, to $100 + the $7.00 = $107.00. Now Ebay gets 10% = $10.70 = $117.70 and about a fiver for postage. I deserve $5 more for husbanding this not for you over about 3 decades, [= ]so we get an opening bid of $127.70. Sure hope you enjoyed looking, and if you want it, bid early, often and last. HINT: Bidding last is the sure way to win. Thanks for looking and good luck in the bidding if you want it. Capt. Brian
