( however it is always necessary and just as important to have a good outdoor or attic type antenna. you can NOT amplify a TV signal you are NOT receiving!! your HDTV signal is like an over the air digital streaming service and has to meet a certain signal threshold for the data stream to be usable and to produce a viewable picture. therefore, you will need an adequate antenna to get a good enough signal level on the weaker stations, and in some cases you may need more than one antenna!) Note: for best results it is always best to install the Inline amplifier at or as close to the antenna as possible before any signal loss occurs!
