The battalion is based at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA. The black, red, and gold patch shows the embroidered numbers 3 and 5 with a red background. On the top right are the words 'Belleau Wood' and 'Vietnam' on the bottom left; both of which were defining battles for the USMC and the USA. At the bottom of the patch embroidered in black is the motto, "Get Some".
