It is a demo unit with the power cord and a base-plate with threaded screws on it which appears to be for mounting to a desktop or countertop surface. When plugged in the volume ring lights up, it goes through a startup sequence, but doesn't turn orange or ask to be connected to wifi. Instead, when you push either of the top buttons it goes through a voice demo by Alexa stating that it's not connected to wifi but if it were it could stream music (etc etc etc). When you push a button again it stops. The volume ring works, the LED's around it work, the speaker works, and it sounds fantastic.
