Dark wood gives it a nice appearance. Thedial and glass are in good condition. When I acquired it, it had one of the wooden top pieces of the clock broken off and missing. That was the center piece that was missing and I made a matching piece,stained it, glued it on and made sure it was going to visually look right with the rest of the sticking up pieces.
