A rare antique mid 19thc set of drawing instruments etc, housed in a gorgeous brass banded and inlaid mahogany veneer case with working lock and key in very good condition as shown. I am assuming this is an English set but have no evidence of that. It’s certainly a good quality and well made set, something I will be sorry to leave my collection. Mahogany case measures approx: 24 cm x 14.6 cm x 4.8 cm and is in fabulous condition with only the top bar of inlay missing. Some wear / missing veneer and tear as to be expected of a box set of this age. Dated 1879 to base belonging to Hugh Stevens at that time. The set itself could be earlier as these things were often passed down. A fabulous addition to any collection, displays fabulously on a desk.
