This listing is for a really cool piece it is a Charles Durkee New York ship compass inside of this large all copper lantern box. This antique copper lantern case is pretty neat. It does have some heavier wear throughout as you can see. It does not have the attachment that should be present on the right side. I cannot find a maker's mark on the copper lantern case. The compass is signed Chas Durkee New York, it is a smaller wooden case inside of this copper case. The wood case housing the compass does have some damage to it and there appears to be some oxidization inside the glass underneath the compass, as you can see in the photos.
