Antique Postage Scale, Ideal with Spring Loading mechanism, Works, Vintage An antique postage scale in good condition that weighs up to 2 lbs. As is shown it's a little corroded and rusty. It has a floral pattern on the sides and front of the scale. It was used by a 99 year old friend until her death, so it has some wear, it may have been in her family from the beginning. Front display is readable still with a little darkening around edges (see pictures). The scale springs up and down, works as well as my digital scale as I show in the pictures. It may need recalibration after shipping. Postage for local was 2 cents so this could date back to 1885 - 1932, postage was 2 cent between 1885 - 1917, went up to 3 cents between 1917 - 1919, then back down to 2 cents between 1919 to 1932. Brand is Ideal. Approx 6 1/2" tall, the base is approx 7" long x 4 1/4" at the widest, not cleaned, no odors. Please ask any questions prior to purchasing or bidding on the item.
