This listing is for a beautiful Russian Silver handbag, c. 1900. The handbag has a nice shape and is lined with lavender silk with interior divided compartments. Handbag has a clasp to open and opens correctly and closes securely. The handbag is decorated with engraved floral design on the front and fancy interwoven monogram "W B" on the reverse. The 60" long chain appears to be a later addition, however, it is stamped ".925" for Sterling Silver. Marked with several unidentified hallmarks that appear to be Russian with one bearing ".800" which should indicate the silver content. The handbag measures 6 1/4" wide, 3 1/2" high and 1" deep. Chain measures 60" long. Combined weight of handbag and chain is 245 grams. This nice handbag is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws reflecting only minor signs of normal wear to the exterior. The silk interior is worn as expected but remains intact and in good conditon.
