Antique English Victorian Solid Silver Trinket/Snuff Box, (Deakin & Francis Ltd, 1901) DescriptionAntique English late Victorian solid sterling silver trinket/snuff box. Rectangular shaped box with plain sides & a hinged lid on the top. The top is beautifully decorated with a fine quality detailed embossed pictorial scene in a border with foliate decoration surround. Gilt lined interior with a felt edging around the inside. I don't think that the felt is original to the box but added later, as the inside is gilded I think that the box may have originally been made to hold snuff of tobacco. Fully hallmarked on the inside of the rim & the front of the lid. Lovely collectors item.
