Check the listing for details. arkeia 4.2 Knox Software. Condition: Very Good. Listed at 24.75 USD. Up for sale is arkeia 4.2 Knox Software. disc is in excellent condition. Arkeia 4.2 is a professional backup solution for heterogenous networks. One of the remarkable features of Arkeia 4.2 is its multi-flow technology which leads to an outstanding network performance. Compared to other backup solutions Arkeia is up to 300% faster. Arkeia supports incremantal as well as complete backups which can be scheduled. Its unique transaction engine allows multiple backups and restores to be performed simultaneously with total reliability. This is especially valuable for multiple users backing up or restoring data on their own. (A multiple drive library is required). Arkeia 4.2 offers three interfaces: a terminal interface, a X-11 Motif GUI, a terminal interface and a Java interface, which enables the system administrator to manage multiple remote backup servers through Internet as if they were local backups. Arkeia is the first software delivered with a Java interface, effectively neutralizing the problem of heterogeneous computer environments. Operators can use any Intranet station to access any remote network. Its universal interface makes it the first software able to backup via the Internet. Networking ARKEIA has its own network protocol that runs over the top of TCP/IP. This protocol allows a client to be physically disconnected for a considerable time during a backup. The ARKEIA protocol will recover the backup from the point of interruption when the connection resumed. The ARKEIA protocol has its own super server or daemon, which operates in a similar manner to the UNIX inetd daemon. This daemon has its own set of services that manages the various sub components of ARKEIA. Arkeia is able to use up to 80% of the network bandwidth. To prevent the network from being overloaded the "Cruise Control" facility allows the administrator to dynamically limit the bandwidth available during a backup, or to preset the bandwidth limit in the savepack. Performance Clients are backed up in parallel with the data being multiplexed onto the tape device(s). Up to 200 clients can be processed concurrently to 32 tape devices. Flows of data are automatically optimised from each client, so that no client can slow the overall backup speed. The multiplexing technique used will allocate bandwidth depending on the rate that each client is supplying data.
