Will not soften / melt in a hot workshop as PLA can. PLA has a more attractive surface finish and is why it is used for "pretty" things. ABS is better for practical mechanical parts, particularly if they will be subjected to non conditioned air spaces. Mounting bore is machined on center and not left raw printed. 16 teeth properly "canted" teeth matching the factory lead screw. Profile designed by me. Mine has been in use since 2015 and and is still running fine showing no wear. Only now making available to the public. Fits all Atlas and Craftsman lathe threading dials for 9, 10 and 12" lathes. Instructions: Use and arbor or drill press to push your shaft out of the worn gear while supporting from back side of gear. Press this plastic replacement on (hub towards the dial body) just shy of flush. Mount and put to work. A few minutes of run in time with gear pressed hard against the lead screw is a good idea. This item is one additive manufactured ABS threading dial gear. Caliper and lathe shown are not included.
