The new PowerQuest 505 from AudioQuest can be used as a bulwark against lethal power spikes and surges. This non-sacrificial surge protector also doubles as a line conditioner and provides your components with filtered, noise-free power. Non-sacrificial power protection It's common to find surge protectors out there that are sacrificial — they can take one big spike and safely dissipate it, but they need to be replaced afterwards. Non-sacrificial surge protectors like the PowerQuest 505 can take hits time and time again and keep defending your gear. AudioQuest made sure the '505 can withstand maximum surges of up to an impressive 6,000 volts/3,000 amps. For reference, that's the upper limit of what a home's breaker box can withstand. Thankfully, the '505 doesn't let such powerful surges through. Once the incoming power hits 140 volts, the surge protector opens its main power relay in less than a quarter of a second, severing the electrical pathway and keeping your sensitive equipment safe from harm. Once voltages go back down to a safe level, the '505 resets the circuit and operates as normal. Clean power filtration Not only does the PowerQuest 505 keep your gear safe, but it also helps it perform better too. The '505 uses ultra-linear noise dissipation to keep noise from muddying your system across a wide frequency bandwidth. What that means in simple terms is that the haze of "unnoticed-until-you-notice-it" noise is gone; your TV has a clearer picture, and your audio system sounds more detailed with a quieter background. 12 outlets for connecting your equipment Even if you have a huge system, the PowerQuest 505 has you covered. It has 12 total outlets. Eight of those are linear-filtered and are perfect for connecting source components or constant-current components like TVs, streaming sticks, DACs, and more. The remaining four outlets are high-current and are geared toward variable-current components like power amplifiers, powered subs, powered speakers, and the like. Noise-rejecting power cable AudioQuest built their name manufacturing excellent cables, so it's maybe no surprise that this conditioner comes with a high-quality power cable. The included detachable PQ-715 cable rejects EMI and RFI noise, and it terminates in a flat-to-wall plug that can squeeze into tight spaces.
