The RC-202 is a compact 2-track looper that inherits the design and tabletop operation of the RC-505, the BOSS looper that has become a stage staple, while adding a variety of new features. Up to four of each of the INPUT FX and TRACK FX can be used simultaneously, allowing you to seamlessly connect performances while storing looped phrases in real time. The extended control functions, including external footswitch and MIDI, make this looper ideal for guitar, keyboard, and other players who cannot control their hands while playing. This hand-operated table-top looper is a compact, hand-operated version of BOSS's cutting-edge technology. Dedicated controls and indicators are provided for each of the two stereo looping tracks. Four simultaneous INPUT FX for recording sources and four DJ/sampler-style TRACK FX for looping tracks can be used simultaneously. In addition, loops can be saved to memory during playback without stopping playback, allowing for seamless looping performance. Powerful Built-in Effects The effects on the RC-202 are designed for real-time performance and are truly for loop performance. The INPUT FX and TRACK FX, carefully selected and developed for loop performance, can be used simultaneously on four channels each (eight channels in total), and the INPUT FX has many effects for recording more creative loop phrases, including pitch shift, lo-fi, and ring modulation. The TRACKFX is loaded with aggressive effects such as filters, slicers, and a unique BEAT FX that can be used to great effect in DJ/sampler performances where real-time effects are manipulated. Effects can be turned on and off instantly with dedicated buttons on the panel, and effects can be intuitively controlled with large dedicated knobs. Full range of control functions All of the RC-202's buttons and knobs are located on the front panel, allowing you to reflect your creative inspiration in real time as you play. The RC-202 is also equipped with a MIDI jack for connecting an external footswitch or expression pedal, and can be operated from a MIDI foot controller/keyboard, or synchronized with the RC-505, a drum machine, or another RC-202 to further expand the scope of your performance. All inputs can be used simultaneously, allowing you to input and mix a variety of audio sources to create loops. A click track can be output to headphones only for onstage monitoring, and a PC can be connected via USB to store loop phrases on the PC or to sample audio from the PC for backing tracks or triggers.
