These CINOX Oscillator cans where used in the high power hub assemblies of the "White Box" transceiver to give greater stability. They are on frequencies like 5.15 MHz,5.1624 MHz, and so on. While they would be better if 5 MHz exactly, here is a chance to get a very good canned oscillator cheap, open it up and replace the crystal with your design! Or use as is for experiments. A "paint stripper" hot air gun works well to open the can, clamp the body gently in a vise and heat the sides near the botton all at once(move quickly around the can). Voila! Some have loose mounting studs, not a problem as they are captive. Experimenters item, Have fun.
