Check the listing for details. Clear Glass Boot Ink Bottle Brass Flip Lid - Libby Yalom Shoe Collection. Color: Clear, Condition: Used. Listed at 89.99 USD. We are pleased to be offering antique glass shoes from the personal collection of Libby Yalom, the author of the book series, Shoes of Glass. Collection provenance will be provided. This listing is for a glass ink bottle with a brass, flip-top, cork-lined lid. No maker mark, just a small star embossed on the heel. It has a strapped spur and tightening strap with two buckles. We have it from Libby's notes and our collector sources that this type shoe bottle has appeared on Ebay from seller(s) in South Asia, India and/or Pakistan, a few times in the last 25 years. The story is that the boot bottles held ink and were given to officers in the British army while the King was emperor of those land. However, Libby was never able to find any documentation to substantiate the story. Whatever the story, it's one really nice glass boot bottle. Approx. 3-3/8 in. long x 4 in. high. We are happy to combine shipping. Please request that we invoice you before you pay.
