This roll of copper was a thrift shop find, so I don't know the source or have the published specs. I unrolled it to verify the 25 foot length. It is 2" wide. I first estimated the thickness at .0114" by using a micrometer to find the overall coil thickness (0.182") and then dividing by the number of coils (16.) I double checked by taking the overall weight (2.16 lbs.) divided by the area (600 sq. in.), then divided the result (.0036 lbs per square inch) by the density of copper (.322 lbs per cubic inch). That calculation yielded .0112" thickness. So, I'm splitting the difference and saying it's .0113" thick, which corresponds to about 29 gauge.While the coil was unrolled, I lightly polished both sides to remove most of the oxidation. As the photos show, there are still some oxidation spots the could be removed by the buyer, with a bit more polishing.Please see photos.Thanks for looking!
