The soldier, Thomas C. Andrews from Spalding County, GA enlisted on 4/28/1862 and mustered into "A" Co. GA 53rd Infantry. He was wounded on 7/3/1863 during the Battle of Gettysburg. He was captured and died of disease as a POW on 9/20/1863. Therefore, this cover was sent during 1863.
