Override the machine by plugging refrig unit directly into wall receptacle. If you get the same result proceed with 3 n' 1. If the overload is burnt more than likely there is an internal short in compressor and will trip a breaker. Then the compressor will need to be replaced. This 2 n' 1 is for 1/4 to 1/3 HP compressors - 115v. This 2 n' 1 Start is brand new from factory. Note: Not all compressors have a Start Capacitor (black cylinder) which includes some Tecumseh compressors. These type of compressors need a 2 n' 1 Relay & Overload Combination.
