Designed specifically for all Machindrum and Monomachine variants. White graphics on black available. This display has been designed specifically for the Machindrum and Monomachine. It will NOT work in the Octatrack Mk1. To make sure there is no confusion, the Octatrack Mk1 display has been produced with a white PCB. The MD / MM display is black. The Octatrack Mk1 display is also available at the shop, separately on eBay. (This listing is for the MD and MM only) Display will ship soldered / pins attached. Installation will require some soldering. However, its not difficult, the new display footprint matches the old one. No modifications or reconfiguring of any kind are required. Straight swap. New "taller" mounting points are included with the display. These leave the bezel positioned better in the chassis (graphics closer to the front panel) more optimal. You can remove the old ones, fit the new ones "If" you want. This should be done "before" soldering. Note ! Before soldering, test fit the NEW display, fit everything together and make sure it's assembling. When your happy with the new position. Solder the pins in place. Do NOT solder the display until you check the assembly / clearances. This is sensible. After installation, adjust contrast with the panel mount potentiometer on the PCB next to the display. then finally adjust backlight brightness on the display. The performance of this custom black display is very VERY good. All the black negative displays are very good. but occasionally, one particular batch turns out exceptional ! This batch of custom elektron displays are in that category. They are very close to OLED in appearance. If you have Mk2 Elektron stuff with OLED Displays, it'll look nice, in company with them. Won't look out of place. This enhanced performance is due to clever backlight and bezel design, and also bezel pressure optimisation. that's the key to the display improvements. It looks nothing like a standard off the shelf display, which look dreadful. It's in a completely different league to anything else available. To suit every possible studio environment, the display has fully adjustable backlight brightness. This is used to set the display up perfectly for the light conditions in your studio. If you use the display in a brightly lit room, the backlight can be set slightly higher, if your studio is dark, it can be dialed in lower for a better look. Shipping the display adjustable is essential. Once the brightness is set up. You can reassemble the MD / MM. The display has a trimmer attached behind. It's adjustable with a small screwdriver.
