This is a limited edition ferro rod by Bushcraft Supply with a total of three available for purchase. Flame Maple is highly sought after and praised for its striking beauty. The characteristic “tiger stripes” can be seen in fine musical instruments such as violins and guitars. Flame Maple is part of the fabric of America because as we expanded westward past the Appalachian mountains, this wood was used for the stock of the Kentucky Rifle. I decided to start crafting these myself in my shop because I was tired of plastic handles breaking, lanyard holes wearing down because they had no metal lining, and ferro rods coming loose from the handle on strikers I bought. My Ferro rods are reliable and will give you thousands of strikes. Rod is 3/8" in diameter giving more striking surface area than most other ferro rods on the market. Overall length is approximately 5" with a 3" striking surface. These measurements may vary somewhat due to their handmade nature.
