Manufacturer recommends a 2.0mm hook, but I have used this yarn with a 3.5mm crochet hook with excellent results. I tested a sample project by washing on delicate in the washer and air drying. I saw no noticeable color fade or degradation. I did notice that there are slight size variations throughout the skein, but it did not affect the overall quality of my test projects.
