Check the listing for details. FM Clipper Limiter Compressor Circuit Module for FM Broadcasting Stereo Encoder. Color: Green, Condition: New. Listed at 27.00 USD. Part Number: RBS-RF103FM Clipper Limiter Compressor Circuit Board Module for FM Broadcasting, PLL FM Transmitter, Stereo Encoder and RDS Encoder, High QualityMusic and speech in an audio signal has a large dynamic range. This signal may contain quiet and noisy parts. Such signals are not very good in terms of transmitter noise. Transmitters require a constant level of audio signal at their input. Limiter devices are audio processors that attenuate loud sounds and condense quiet sounds in the signal. In this way, the dynamic parts of the broadcast signal are processed at a constant level at the limiter output. The presented limiter circuit module has the same working principle as professional limiter devices. This module internally contains limiter-clipper, compressor and filters units. Thanks to these internal units, signal clipping at the limiter output allows the signal level to be increased without exceeding the maximum frequency deviation of ±75 khz. Moreover, ensuring a maximum standard deviation of 75 kHz also supports meeting FCC requirements in the FM broadcast. In summary, this limiter module undertakes the most basic tasks of a professional limiter device, significantly improving the broadcast quality and supporting FCC requirements. This module has a clipper level adjustments for low and high frequencies, atack and relase time adjustments for audio processing in the compressor and limiter units and a line level adjustment. Thanks to these settings, it is possible to increase the signal amplitude to the highest by preventing saturation. The LEDs on the module help to observe the clipping in the signal. In this way, the clipping in the signal can be observed instantly during the broadcast. In addition, the limiter module has a precise 50us and 75us pre-emphasis option at its input. This limiter module is designed with a single channel architecture on the board to minimize crosstalk between channels and prevent possible ground loops. It can be used in both mono and stereo broadcast applications. It is strongly recommended to use it, if your broadcast equipments do not include such a limiter module. In addition to improving broadcast quality, it is possible to professionalize your broadcast bench by supporting compliance with FCC requirements with this limiter module. This limiter is compatible with our HQ stereo encoder module, RDS encoder module and PLL FM transmitter module. Highlights:- Supports meeting FCC requirements,- Precise pre-emphasis,- LF (Low frequency) and HF (High frequency) clipping,- Attack and release time adjustment for signal compression/limitation,- Overshoot protection,- Low distortion,- Low noise,- Easy to set and use,- Reverse supply protection,- Power input for adapter,- RCA connectors for input and output, Module Functions:- Input level setting,- Relase time setting,- Attack time setting,- HF clipping setting,- LF clipping setting,- Output amplitude setting,- Pre-emphasis time selection,- Clipping indicators. Technical Specs:- Supply: 9 – 17V,- Input Impedance: 5k,- Output Impedance: 0.5k,- Pre-emphasis: 50 us (EU), 75 us (USA) / optional for using,- Input voltage min: 0.2 Vrms (Vp-p: 0.6V),- Output voltage: 0 – 1.2 Vrms (Vp-p: 3.5V),- Signal to Noise (S/N) ratio: > 70 dB,- Input lower cut-off frequency (-3dB): 25 Hz,- Output lower cut-off frequency (-3dB): Stereo Encoder -> Transmitter. For mono brodcast 1x Limiter -> Transmitter.* JP1 is pre-emphasis selection pins. Connect a jumper to selection pins (position 1-2 or 2-3) to activate pre-emphasis. The jumper position on 1-2 pins selects 50us (EU) curve, the jumper position on 2-3 pins selects 75 us (USA) curve. Note: If there is pre-emphasis stage on the transmitter or stereo encoder in your broadcast equipment, it should be turned off. In this condition, only the pre-emphasis on this limiter module should be employed.* Attack time and release time adjustments are the time constants for compressor and limiter. Attack time should be set as small as possible. Release time employs to adjust the signal processing intensity.* LF Clipping and HF Clipping: These functions enable the signal level to be increased as much as possible without saturation. The adjustment procedure is as follows: 1) Set the HF clipping to the middle, set the LF clipping closely below clipping level of low frequencies (1 kHz and lower). 2) Adjust HF clipping on a common program content. Check the sibilancy (hiss) reproduction - no distortion should be audible. The more clipping means the more signal loudness.* Input level: If it is adjusted right, background sound (noise, hum) present in original signal is not amplified and clipping is working on all common program content. Note: The block representation in the photos is the connection diagram of our FM Limiter, HQ Stereo Encoder and RDS Encoder circuit modules to our PLL FM transmitter. This is only the recommended connection type. Each of our modules and transmitter can work independently, can be used with amateur or professional devices and circuit modules.
