Its front design features the Coat of Arms of Gibraltar, the Trinity lighthouse on Europa Point, a Koehler Gun depressing carriage, ER initials, and Her Majesty the Queen. The reverse side features a portrait of 18th-century British commanding officer General Eliott, rifles, and artist John Trumbulls painting "The Sortie Made by the Garrison of Gibraltar depicting Spanish and English troops fighting and General George Eliott with officers attending to the dying Don Josde Barboza during The Great Siege in 1779-1783. The note measures 141 x 75 mm and contains a windowed security thread and a watermark image of Queen Elizabeth II as part of its security features.
