I prefer Golfworks grip tape, it is not as sticky as some others I have tried, and the long slide you need here is easier. 2. Cutting the tape to provide a "runway" between the two areas of grip helps to make the slide easier and also eases the removal of the unneeded tape between the two grip sections. A utility knife to cut the tape for removal is what I use. See pictures. (I now use a narrower "runway" than this years old picture shows) 3. You cannot use too much solvent! I have a catch system to recover as much as possible, put lots on the tape, and fully saturate the inside of the longer grip before you slide it on.I use Brampton HF-100 grip solvent (HF for hazard free, available at my eBay store or from most clubmaker suppliers) 4. Shaft note: Apollo long putter shafts (both 43 and 53 are thick enough down to the 20 inch point to use these grips without build up tape. True temper and the 48" shafts available through me will need build up tape under the grip tape for the lower end of the lower grip past the 24" above the shaft end point.
