Data Professionals Main Page HDA-1250-2 'Org' Coil Kit The Model HD-1250 is one of the most powerful 'Dip Meters' you can find. Rather than using a vacuum tube, it uses a Dual-Gate MOS FET paraphase amplifier and hot-carrier diodes for more sensitivity and a better 'dip'. It also uses a 'Q' multiplier for greater detector sensitivity. The HD-1250 comse with 7 different plug-in coils to cover 7 bands from 1.6 to 250 MHz. Unfortunately, when one of the band coils goes missing, you can no longer use the dip meter on that band. We have created replacement coil kits that allow you to build any of the missing coils for your HD-1250. These coils look and feel just like the originals and operate with the same response. To make assibly easier, we have already wound the coils that have the larger number of turns of wire. You only need to hand wrap the higher frequency coils that have a smaller number of turns (16 or less). It is much easier to make a coil with over 200 turns on a coil winding machine, rather than try to wrap it by hand. The tools that you will need are: a soldering iron, solder, wire cutters, a knife, a small drill or pin-vice (1/6" or less), scissors, and some quick drying glue. We prefer the white Gorilla Glue because it matches the color of the coil form. If you purchase more than one coil, we will combine shipping.
