"Gidyup" HOBBY HORSE was a favorite not only with our kids, but with buyers at gift shops, from Toronto to Halifax, to Victoria, because "Gidyup" was the first they'd seen with "lips!" We made them in bright colors of calico, pin dots, stripes, using equally bright colors of washable yarn for the mane. We put red flannelette inside the mouth. We even made little 4" wheels and attached them to the bottom of the dowel, and put a little smaller dowel through the main one for "handles." You can add reins and a bridle...we have illustrated directions for this in the pattern.
