This lock will fit all Norton Commando top triple trees. Common lock part numbers are 03-0175 or 55-0328. The included steel roll pin is part # 06-5447. The roll pin is not illustrated in any parts book except the Mark III book. Most owners replace the steering lock due to lost keys or a seized lock. The only way we have found to replace the Commando lock is to drive the lock out with a hammer and punch. Take note of the lock position. This will snap the old roll pin, the remainder must be removed with a small punch. Apply a little anti seize on the barrel of the new lock and push it into place at the same position as the old lock. Drive the new roll pin through the hole in the triple tree to capture the lock.DIMENSIONS: The overall lock length is 39mm, bottom of lip to bottom of barrel is 36mm (insertion portion), widest point of barrel is 19mm, narrowest is 18.5mm, length of the locking tab is 6mm when in locked position.Please Note: In our opinion, the steering lock is designed as a deterrent and not as serious anti-theft device. If you park your valuable British motorcycle out of sight, do not rely on any British original steering lock to prevent your machine from going MIA. The best steering lock we have ever seen is the older Harley design, a heavy pad lock through the triple tree onto the frame.
