This auction is for a MINT NEVER HINGED IMPERFORATE ERROR Coil Pair of Scott # 2280c, the 25c Flag Over Yosemite. This pair has Mottled Tagging. It is also miscut. AN ERROR AND A FREAK! This is no ordinary miscut, however. This could be a finishing equipment registration error where the "selvage" setting was used instead of the normal stamp height setting. The "selvage" setting was normally used to trim off excess paper from the top and bottom of the web, but, in this case, it was inadvertently used on the printed web and the "trimmings" were then packaged and sold over-the-counter.
