This uncirculated 50 Jamaican dollar note is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Bank of Jamaica. It is a purple, red, and green note that is dated 15 January 2002, bears the signature of Derick Milton Latibeaudiere, and measures 145 mm x 68 mm. Its obverse side features parrots in underprint, Samuel Sharpe, morning glory (ipomoea) flowers, coat of arms and periwinkle flowers. Its reverse side shows periwinkle flowers and the Doctor’s Cave Beach in Montego Bay. Security features include a 2-mm wide windowed security thread with demetallized BOJ 50 and a watermark of red-billed streamertail hummingbird (Doctor Bird) and electrotype star.
