Check the listing for details. Jewelry Display Case Attack & Bullet Resistant. Condition: New. Listed at 3320.00 USD. The JECASEBR is a physical attack resistant, partially bullet resistant Jewelry display case. The glazing consists of 3/4” thick glass clad polycarbonate tested to the UL 1 standard for bullet resistance (9mm handgun) and tested to the WMFL-III standard for physical attack resistance (30 minutes). It was built as a prototype about 10-12 years ago, and stored in dry heated warehousing space. It is in excellent condition and has never been used. Bullet Resistance: While the glass-clad polycarbonate (GCP) is bullet resistant, the wood perimeter holding it in isn’t lined with bullet resistant materials. The sides of the upper case are also not lined with bullet resistant materials. The original case was intended only to resist smash and grab robberies, not gunfire. We did add some 5/16” UL 2 (357mag handgun) bullet resistant fiberglass to the lower section inside the cabinet, both on the front and sides down low. It was finished with paintable phenolic, primed, and painted. It does not cover the toe kick area or the wood above it but adds some additional protection. Overall item about 75% coverage. Physical Attack Resistance: While the GCP is tested to 30 minutes for physical attack resistance (3 firemen in rotation with pick axes, sledge hammers, crowbars, hammers and etc) – the rest of the case is not tested or rated. However with 2 layers of 3/4” hardwood and plywood, the robustness of the GCP combined with the wood should do quite well against a brief smash and grab style attack with a crowbar, hammer, and so forth. The Case is 60” Long x 24” Deep x 38” High. The upper section is lined with felt and has mirrors on the upper door. Both the upper door and the lower pair of doors have keyed locks, keyed alike. The upper section has interior dimensions of about 57” x 21” x 10 1/2” high. The bottom doors are 24” wide x 16” high, with a total interior space of about 57” x 21” x 18” high. The wood used is 3/4” cabinet grade Maple veneered plywood (doubled up) and 3/4” Maple hardwood, stained. If built as a custom ordered case today, it would sell at $ 6,640.00 delivered The Jewelry case needs to be delivered by Common Carrier to a commercial location with a forklift, or held at a local terminal to be picked up by the purchaser’s truck. The 65” Long x 25” Wide x 46” high crate weighs about 330 pounds and the Case itself weighs about 250 pounds. With the awkward shape and nothing to get a grip on, it is harder to handle by hand than 250 pounds might suggest. Furniture dollys should be on hand to help move it into location after being removed from the crate. It would be helpful to have 3 people involved in moving it into place.
