This listing is for a nice antique American Sterling Silver match safe/vesta case with garnet insert, c. 1920. This silver match safe is unornamented except for the gilded interior and a garnet cabochon stone attached on the curved front of the top. No monogram. Case has a match striker on the bottom. The hinge is in good working condition and the lid opens and closes tightly.The case is in very good to excellent condition with only very minimal signs of normal wear. Silver case has nice original patina. Marked "Sterling" with the old trademark stamp on the gilded interior for La Secla, Fried & Co. of New Jersey. Measures 2 3/8" long, 1 3/4" wide and 1/2" deep.
