Check the listing for details. Large cent/penny 1806 VF spoiled planchet. Listed at 509.99 USD. Sheldon 270, super low mintage. High grade, likely struck on spoiled planchet. In the early 19th century, planchets were shipped on horse and wagon in barrels. Even though the blanks weren't exposed to the ground itself, they were still exposed to elements if barrels of soon to be cents were left outside too long and rained on. There's really no telling exactly what happened to this particular specimen, but the likelihood is a clean strike onto a spoiled planchet. Obverse particularly nice. A fantastic opportunity to claim this piece of history. I am not accepting best offers at this time. I'm happy to expose some of my best material in my eBay store, as this draws traffic to my "no reserve" weekly auctions. I do not have an unlimited supply of coins, which means that some of these dates are difficult for me to replace in the store. Thanks for looking!
