One of the most popular systems uses a Urea solution, like AdBlue�, that is injected into the exhaust before the Catalytic convertor to convert the Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) coming out of the engine into Nitrogen and water. When these systems fail the engine will initially fall into �limp mode� and if not corrected, eventually the vehicle OBD system may prevent the vehicle starting.
