The pumps are available from Leybold in twelve single-stage and dual-stage models with capacities from 2.2 CFM to 53.7 CFM. Both Standard and Corrosive Application Series Models are available from Leybold. Also available from Leybold are single-stage Hot Series Pumps with capacities from 4.5 CFM to 36.7 CFM.The pumps are ruggedly constructed and easy to operate. The rotor is mounted eccentrically in the pump cylinder where it rotates rapidly, forcing the vanes to slide against the cylinder wall by centrifugal force. No springs are used. Pumping is achieved by alternating increasing and decreasing the volume of working space in the pump’s crescent-shaped cross section. Pump and motor shafts are connected to each other by a flexible coupling which is specially constructed to operate smoothly and quietly.
