Lights Cavalry Union Sabre, 1860 Lights Cavalry Union Sabre, 1860 This Union Light Cavalry Saber has a high carbon steel blade, 1065. Leather handle wrapped in wire wire and steel cover. The hand-forged blade of the M-1860 Light Cavalry Sabre is made of steel to British military specifications that must flex more than 20 degrees and return to its initial position. The handle is leather and wrapped in wire thread. The blade has an impressive curved design. Originally copied from an earlier French saber and manufactured in the north and in Europe in blue. This excellent reproduction is handmade and ready to use. A sturdy steel sheath completes this legendary sword. It evokes the unwavering bravery of the Battle of Antietam, Manassas, Gettysburg.
