In the 1970's, companies were scrambling to keep up with the emerging Quartz technology. This included Swiss giants Longines, who created a limited and experimental run of LCD display watches with quartz movements. Needless to say, LCD watches from Longines remain quite rare. This piece has a simple hour and minutes display which can be switched to date and seconds using the side pusher. The case is in excellent condition.The screen shows a fault running down its right side, but this does not affect the displaying of the time. Encased inside is an ESA movement. The caseback is marked with "France" on the inside. Case is sized at 27mm from lug to lug, and bracelet is sized to fit a maximum of 6 1/2" wrist.
