Base is natural solid sapele or other dark wood. No stain or paint. Just sanded & neatly sealed bare wood with clear coating to protect this beautiful wood. There is a neatly applied felt pad on the bottom of the board to prevent marring of the board or the area it is displayed on. Cartridges consist of old and new common military calibers. 5.56mm Nato (M855), 7.62mm (M80), .50 Cal (M33), 9mm Luger (M882), .45 ACP (M1911). The cartridges meet ebay's rules on display of ammunition as the shell base primer pocket has been completely removed rendering them unusable to reload. They have been polished and triple-coat sealed with purpose formulated brass sealer. The identification label securely mounted to the board is a CNC engraved solid brass plate. The font used is the stencil lettering used by the military. As they are all hand made there may be slight scratches on the brass plate (seems like if you just look at brass plate wrong it picks up a scratch). This is high a quality, hand-constructed display. They are all handmade so each is a little different from the other, A random set was used for the pictures in this sale.
