Along with color and B/W video, this unit will also transmit Coaxitron (up the coax) PTZ control signals over the same UTP wire, eliminating the need to run a separate control cable. Some of the key advantages UTP has over a BNC cable is a lower cost, less bulkiness and most importantly, the ability to transmit over longer distances without suffering signal attenuation. A UTP transmitter is also an obvious choice for use in buildings already wired for UTP.
