A tight bottom end with bright (but not harsh) highs and a thick midrange that can be scooped or made to sound flat with the mid control, combine to create a three dimensional distortion by itself, or in conjunction with the amp’s own distortion settings.The true test of any distortion effect is its ability to react to playing style and intensity. The Purple Plexifier rewards the guitarist with playing feel that is unusually rare whether with humbucking, single coil or active pickups.
