For your consideration, I have this vintage"AIRBORNE" tab, possibly WW2 era, which is a cloth arc with the word "AIRBORNE" embroidered on it. This tab is worn by paratroopers in the U.S. Army and other military forces to indicate that they have completed airborne training. It is typically worn above the unit patch on the left sleeve of the uniform. The blue background with white lettering is a common color combination for these tabs.
