Hand Towel As Used In VA Hospitals Click images to enlarge Description This is a RARE example of the hand towels utilized in Veterans Administration hospitals during and after WWII in the immediate post-War period. The towel is in the distinctive white "flat-weave" (also called a "tea towel") which was the predominant type of towel used by the general public prior to WWII (In fact, terry cloth towels became the most popular type of towel during WWII due to the unavailability of flat-weave towels). The towel is 16-1/2" wide by 14" long (see close-up image below). The towel is in VERY GOOD used condition. PLEASE NOTE: The dark spot in the lower left is a shadow of my head, not discoloration in the towel.
