Offered is an extraordinarily rivetting and colorful painting of a shamanic figure and human subject. In the background are a fiery meteor and sunburst, perhaps signaling the creation and destruction of the universe. The colors jump out of a black void, and the lines direct the eye to create a sense of motion, chaos, and yet order. The human figure in the lower right of the painting dons a mask on the back of his head which closely resembles the main subject in the painting, the shamanic figure. That the mask is on the back of the mans head might imply that he cannot see his own wisdom or power. The covered eyes of the shamanic figure correlate to a possibility within man -- Wisdom, power, creativity or destruction can exist within, dormant, unseen, even undetected. Around the wrist of the shaman is a strand of prayer beads suggesting that prayer, meditation, or contemplation might unleash these possibilities. This painting is highly energetic and entrancing.
