From a simple corrosion repair, dent removal, manufacturing of obsolete and no longer attainable body panels and to recreate or construct a whole new bodywork if required either it be in steel or aluminium. The course will suit any car enthusiast,collector and restorer no matter off the skill level. From a complete beginner to the professional who wants to refresh or pick up new techniques. It's a five day intensive hands on experience in which the students will get introduced to all the tools and machinery they will likely ever need to restore a car or recreate new body panels. Introduction and understanding how various metals behave and how to shape them into single or double curvature, create flanged edges are and how to wire them. Introduction to oxyacetylene, mig welding, plug welding and spotwelding. At the end of the course you will be confident and able to assess and remove damaged or rotten panels and fit new ones if obtainable, or cut out rotten areas make patterns and recreate new sections and buttweld them in place. You will learn pattern and jig making, manufacturing and shaping of unattainable complex double curvature panels using simple handtools and the wheeling machine. You will learn to shape and buttweld steel and aluminium, and how to make tools, you will have the foundations to tackle and repair any car and with more practice in time you will be able to re panel a whole car if necessary.
