Check the listing for details. Perseverance Mars Rover Commemorative Plaque. Condition: New. Listed at 27.99 USD. America's latest and most ambitious Mars rover yet - Perseverance - successfully landed on February 18, 2021, after "Seven minutes of Terror!" This rover's mission is to search for signs of past microbial life, and it has the most advanced Suite of instruments yet landed. This plaque commemorates that mission by combining the rover's "greeting" plaque with it's name plate. NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory have a long tradition of greeting plaques beginning with pioneer 10 in 1972 and Voyager in 1977. The greeting depicts Earth on the left, Mars on the right with the Sun in the center, and the Sun's rays spelling out the words "Explore as One" in Morse code. Also just a great motivational piece; you don't get anywhere good without Perseverance! The name Perseverance is spelled out in NASA-style lettering just like the real nameplate. It's laser-etched in metal-look plastic and measures 8" wide, 3 1/2" tall. Has wall hanger on back.
